Haneen Zuabi: World's Most Heroic Individual is a Woman

Ok... None of us understand Hebrew, but the commotion must've triggered a lot of questions.

Haneen Zuabi who is an Arab Palestinian woman is a member of Knesset, the Israeli Parliament.

She was on board the Gaza aid flotilla (Mavi Marmara) that was raided by the Israeli Defense Force a few days ago. She was released due to her political immunity.

As a member of the parliament she stood up to voice her opinion but was interrupted by other Knesset members. "Go to Gaza you traitor!" was repeatedly thrown at her. She held strongly on to the podium but later withdrew for security reasons.

This is my first discovery of an Arab political party in Israel. They champion to recognize Palestinian Arabs in Israel as a minority. The Arabs make up 20% of the total Israeli population. Haneen was the quiet candidate in the party. She entered the Knesset as Balad's 3rd representative.

A lawmaker who stands firmly against Israel's occupation of Palestine, Haneen joined other activists in the flotilla after disappointing attempts to convince other Knesset members to aid the oppressed state.

It was reported the Haneen shed a tear when exiting the parliament.
